Booth Setup
- Free vendor parking at 610 E Josephine St, San Antonio, TX 78215 — 0.1 miles, about a minute's walk, directly behind 527 E Grayson St.
- Vendors provide their own canopy, tables, chairs, and power source.
- Tables must be draped or covered.
- Vendors are responsible for cleaning their booth area at the close of each market day. Food vendors must haul away their own grease and cooking waste — it may not be placed in market trash cans, poured on the ground, or emptied into drains.
- Any vendor cooking on-site must keep a working fire extinguisher in their booth and follow San Antonio fire-code spacing for propane or open-flame equipment.
- Your booth is a 10' x 10' canopy footprint at your assigned spot. Keep all merchandise, signage, and equipment inside your space.
- Display clear signage with your business name.
- Canopy weights are required — minimum 25 lb secured to each leg. You may use steaks as long as you remove them.
Set-up & Break-down
- Set-up begins one hour before opening. All vendors must be fully set up and ready to sell by 2:00 PM.
- Vendors must stay the entire market. Keep your booth up and staffed until 6:00 PM, even if you sell out early.
- Do not begin breaking down or moving your vehicle until the market closes at 6:00 PM.
- For pedestrian safety, no vehicles may enter or move through the market during open hours.
- Vendors are allowed to access their lot with their vehicle to setup and break down.
Food Permit Requirement
All food and beverage vendors must hold a valid San Antonio Metropolitan Health District (Metro Health) permit. No permit, no operation — no exceptions.
Metro Health issues two farmers market permits, obtained in person at 1901 S. Alamo St., San Antonio:
- Prepackaged goods only — $75 annual permit. Goods must be prepackaged and properly labeled. Eggs must show the producer's name and address, be marked "ungraded," carry safe-handling instructions, and be held at 45°F or below.
- On-site prepared food or beverages — $100 annual permit. At least one person in the booth must hold a valid Food Handler or Food Manager certification.
Bring a copy of your Metro Health permit — and your Food Handler / Manager certificate where applicable — to every market day.
Sales Tax
Vendors selling taxable goods must have a Texas Sales and Use Tax Permit and post it at their booth. The permit is free from the Texas Comptroller at comptroller.texas.gov. Vendors collect and report their own sales tax. Government Hill Market requires proof of an active permit before booth space is assigned.
